As we know, the Trail of Tears was when Andrew Jackson, arguably the worst president in our history (coincidentally a Democrat), sent a bunch of Indians to their dooms by a Nazi-style forced march to Oklahoma. Regrettably, for Jackson, all the warring tribes ended up not killing each other (mass elimination was part of the plan) and ended up living in harmony to this day (OK has a higher native American concentration than any other state)
I title this article the Trail of Tears not for a boring history lesson, but with an allusion to the modern Jackson. While Andrew Jackson was, albiet warrantlessly, the hero of propertyless white men, Obama is the hero, albiet warrantlessly, of poor, labeled 'black'Americans.
Now comes the great wash of tears: the media has been forced to report that the Oblitorator cannot carry all his baggage.
There will be a trail of political tears away from the inauguration...hopefully he'll continue to use his own political capital on ventures with as much value as GM stock.
